Opening Scripture: Matthew 16: 26
For what will it profit a man if he profits the whole world [wealth, fame, success], but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Hallelujah! What a great question and what is your response?
My response is Nothing! If you are still moved by material things you don’t know or have tasted the love of Christ.
I say it again absolutely nothing.
Life without Christ is meaningless. In Christ all you went seeking for in the world He gives to those who trust in Him. Glory to God!
It’s only a fool who will say in His heart that there is no God.
Don’t waste your time chasing shadows and eventually lose your soul.
Some did step on people’s toes to climb the ladder of what they think is successful and now at the top, all they succeed in making are more enemies with less confidence from people.
Most people do not reflect on this great question Jesus asked. However, many do know the feel of questions similar to it. For instance: “I worked day and night to get ahead. But now my children are grown, and I barely know them. Was it worth it?”
What is the gain?
Choosing to stay with the world or stay with Christ is a choice one has to make. You can never be here or there at the same time. Beloved what choice have you made?
Are you still saying there is time? Listen there is No time to make that decision before it’s too late.
Also for those in Christ but gradually slipping away to the world all because of the things they think the world can offer. Repent of it today and stay focused on Christ all that the world is running around for will gravitate towards you. Glory!
These too immerse treasures is a choice similar to what He taught in His Sermon on the Mount:
Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
If I may ask where is your treasure, is it in the world or with Christ? Certainly, your response shows where your heart is.
Waste no time any longer but come to Christ the giver of life.
I pray for you today to make that great decision to stay with Christ and stay focused only on Him in Jesus’ name Amen.
