Opening Scripture: Nahum 1: 7 – 8
7 The Lord is good, a strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him.
8 But with an overrunning flood, He will make a full end of [Nineveh’s very] site and pursue His enemies into darkness.
Hallelujah!
Our Lord is good.
This is a statement of fact. No twisting- He is good.
A strength and a stronghold in a day of trouble.
Never underestimate His power of protection. It’s all year round in all seasons.
He is mindful of those who take refuge in Him. It only takes trust in God for you to take refuge in His loving arms. He knows you exist, and acknowledges and understands the relationship you have with Him.
Proverbs 18: 10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil], and strong.
What a translation!
It is the name that is the strong tower.
The name in Hebrew is “shem” which means reputation. His reputation or name is the strong tower. He never fails to defend His name. Glory to God!
For instance, your fellow colleague comes calling that your boss demands you to move your car. He does not have to say His name but because He is your boss, the owner of the company, he pays your salary and can hire and fire you, so you just quickly obey.
Everything obeys the Lord. Just call on His name.
He will overrun your enemies as a flood, He will make their reign come to an end (they will cease to exist) as He will pursue them into darkness. Praise the Lord!
Be mindful of who He is “A good Lord “His divine protection is upon you and yours this season and always.
I pray for you today as you continually dwell in Lord, no attack of the enemy over the life of you or yours will succeed in Jesus name. Amen.
