Opening Scripture: John 13:20 KJV
Verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Halleluyah!
Accepting shows you also have received God.
This must come with obedience to His word. Glory to God!
Receiving God is receiving His word. God is His word. Beloved, love makes us take someone to heart and that love also comes with the desire to please the person.
The Bible said in John 14:15, if ye love me, keep my commandments.
He went further to say in John 14: 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Obedience to His words brings the Father’s love and they both will dwell in you making you their abode – a special dwelling place. Praise the Lord!
Do you find yourself struggling to obey His word and teachings?
It simply means you have not accepted Him with all your heart. You lack love for Him. No wonder the Holy Spirit was sent to help us, for with His help loving which leads to obedience will be made easy. How?
He will teach you all things and that makes it easy to understand God’s Word better. A void of obedience is void of loving Him.
MSG translation of John 14:15 simply says “If you love me, show it by doing what I have told you.
Are you doing what He wants?
There is no difference between God’s Word and Him. (See John 1:1)
These words spoken in the Opening Scripture were said a few hours before He laid His life for us that He talked about in John 10: 11 -15 (Study).
If you notice those who received Him based on their love for Him were described as those who love Jesus and not simply called Christians or believers.
It distinguishes us from the rest. When you love Him it will reflect in your character and decisions. Hallelujah!
Loving Jesus is not the same as keeping His commandments, loving Him gives rise to keeping His commandments. Keeping His word is the result of loving Him.
Jesus has no defect. He has no demerit therefore we cannot and dare not love Him graciously. God loves us, true love is not loving with love that overcomes some fault or sin rather loving Him is entirely deserved. Give Him praise!
Our love for Him is above doing excellent things but it’s a matter of delighting in our excellent Savior. Not loving because of need but loving Him pleasurable because of who He is.
I pray for you today may your love for God knows no boundaries in Jesus’ name Amen.
