Opening Scripture: Colossians 1: 9 – 13 Esv
9: And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10:so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
11: being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;
12: giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
13: He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.
Hallelujah! Prayer is very vital in a life of a believer.
We ought to pray for one another. The fastest way to Impact a life is through praying for that person.
Be selfless! Regardless of what you going through, your life will be fixed when you pray for someone else that’s Christ-like nature. Paul in the opening scripture said since the day we heard we never ceased to pray for you. Does it mean Paul did not have personal issues to pray about?
No! Rather he exhibited love that is selfless.
What did Paul hear? Paul heard about their belief in Christ and they knew the grace of God in truth. (Colossians 1: 3 – 6 study )
Paul’s prayer was powerful and very impactful. we should pray such a prayer for someone and bring about a change in their lives. Hallelujah!
Paul prayed:-
- That they should be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding: When a person walks in the will of God it means He or she has an understanding (deep and clear knowledge) of what God wants for them.
They agree to it and their Christin life will be golden and void of frustration.
God’s will is His direction about your life – A comprehensive insight into the ways and purpose of God. Such a person will discern spiritual things.
Many Christians are going through diverse challenges because they are walking outside God’s will. Some fell out of God’s will – there was no one praying for them as Paul did for the Colossian Christians.
Every believer needs to understand their purpose of existence and when you do, you will realize that the fulfillment of your purpose (destiny) lies in obedience and walking in God’s will for your life. Glory to God!
Therefore, when you see a believer whose life is not aligning with God’s blessings pray for them to understand and follow God’s will and when you do so you are also praying for yourself. Also, we need to pray for those whose life is reflecting Christ that they may find strength, and encouragement and continuously walk in obedience to the will of God.
I pray for you today to have the earnest desire to Impact a life today through praying for them in Jesus Name, Amen.
