Opening Scripture :1 Samuel 23: 1 – 4.
1: When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,”
2: he inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” The LORD answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
Halleluyah! Previously I said to double check our response after we inquire from God through prayers, we get it done through;
1) Scriptural backings.
But today we will be looking at the number two way of double checking which is:-
2) The Holy Spirit
Part of His role in our lives is guidance and direction.
What other way can we know if a decision is God’s plan or not?
James 4:17 says, “So then if you know the good you ought to do and don’t do it, you sin.”
This scripture leads to the number
3: Human sense or common sense
You do the right thing.
When it comes to seeking guidance we have our brains to help us out.
And as believers with the spirit of God in us, God presents reasons in our minds to act in a certain way. God may call us in a direction that makes no sense on the surface, but that is not his usual method – but in the end, it makes a lot of sense, and the outcome with be great.
Use your common sense to seek Godly honest counsel from fellow believers. You don’t go asking the unbeliever His/Her opinion knowing there is no godly counsel in it.
Also never go looking for people that will give you a YES just because it’s you and it’s not the right thing to do rather seek people that will give you an honest answer.
Learn to do the right things that are just for man and God.
Another method is through;
4)Circumstances
This always plays out, you find God leading you in a particular direction through circumstances.
It points out that we should go down a certain road because all of the signs seem to be leading in that direction. God puts things in our path that would not normally come up that way as a way to guide us.
To be continued…
I pray for you today to inquire from the Lord always for better direction in life in Jesus’ name Amen.
