Word For Today: How To Know If A Response Is God’s Decision (Part 1)

Opening Scripture :1 Samuel 23: 1 – 4.
1: When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,”
2: he inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” The LORD answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”

Glory!
We ought to seek God’s face before we make a decision and previously we have seen how God responds to us.

But after getting a response, it’s also important to know if the response( Decision)is God’s plan. This serves as a double check because sometimes people get to hear things that sound right and in the end, it turns out to be a bad decision.

The begin to wonder did I not hear from God? A decision might sound right after praying but always double-check to know if it’s God’s plan.

Remember a little mistake, for instance, doubt can bring contrary voices even though you redirect your steps back you have to be careful. So always double-check.

How do we double-check responses:-

1) Scriptural backings.
The word of God is our manual for life.

This discernment tool is most likely the simplest.
If your plan goes against the teachings of the Bible it is not God’s will.
For instance, if you have a dispute with your spouse, it is not God’s will for you to leave your spouse and run off with someone else.

Cheating your business partner is not the way to make that major big breakthrough you were prophesied to.

It is not God’s will for you to cheat on your taxes, or avoid paying necessary utility bills you.
Any decision contrary to God’s word is an error such a decision should not stand and never be obeyed or carried out. It does not matter who gave the suggestions.

It is not God’s will for you to enter into a business deal that will hurt the poor and the environment, and leave people heartbroken and defenseless.

We must agree that God’s word rules as our manual for life.
If He could exalt His word – that it must come past, then beloved it’s a big deal in our lives you must reference it. Hallelujah!

If we are going to understand God’s specific will or plan for us, we need to know that it will always fall into his general plan for everyone.

Therefore you ought to study God’s word often with obedience
Make sure you understand its basic teachings, like the Ten Commandments, and apply them to your life and decisions.

There are times when God directs us individually through His word a particular scripture is given and we read and get solutions.

Many times through the Bible accounts of people, and while reading their stories, a specific verse jumps out at them, and they know that it is a directive message from God.

Take Note; This way of direction does happen, but we cannot force it the Bible is not a mystical or magical oracle book where we open it randomly, blindly placing our finger on a page and doing what it says.
No! It does not work that way.

2) Through The Holy Spirit
To be continued…

I pray for you today to inquire from the Lord always for better direction in life in Jesus’ name Amen.
