Opening Scripture:
1 Samuel 23: 1 – 2
1: When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,”
2: he inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” The LORD answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
Glory to God!
When we inquire from God, we must be spiritually sensitive and stable to know when He has responded.
How does God respond to us?
- To some people the moment they relate to Him, He speaks to them, and they hear.
- While to some He speaks to them through a prophet.
or through dreams/ revelation.
Some revelation comes like a dream.
Are you still asking if God speaks through dreams?
God speaks through dreams – and he does throughout the scripture. An example is the birth of Christ.
The challenge is this, many of us have stopped listening to our dreams thinking that they are meaningless: we seldom even remember what we dreamt.
When we remember our dreams, it is good to ask if God is speaking to us through the dream. There are times that I know that he is saying something, but the interpretation only comes as I explain the dream to someone else.
Beloved if you have trouble remembering your dreams, keep a pad and pen near your bed, so you can write down the story before your rational mind erases the memory.
Note: Not all dreams are from God, some just tell us about what is important to us, some are just brain entertainment while we sleep, but some are a message from God.
If you have an issue you are concerned about, ask God as you lie down to give you direction in your dreams.
- God can also speak to someone to speak to you about the decision to take
Therefore you have to be spiritually alert.
Build yourself to be sensitive to hear Him and always obey. Don’t wake up and just decide without inquiring from God.
It’s very must to build a relationship with God and His word it will guide you both in inquiring and also getting responses from God.
Why do you need this? To eliminate spiritual noise. Unstable thoughts. In one minute you are all about God and what His saying and the other minute you are carnal considering the world’s standards of doing things which is not proper.
Romans 8: 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Don’t forget the flesh is antagonistic to the spirit.
Galatians 5: 17 says For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so you do not do what you want.
As believers we do not work in the flesh or make decisions in the flesh it’s a complete disaster. To avoid this you need to be spiritually stable. We become spiritually stable when we continuously feed our minds with God’s word and obey its instruction.
God is too pure to fail and when you make decisions in line with His will you can never fail.
I pray for you today to inquire from the Lord always for better direction in life in Jesus’ name Amen.
