Opening Scripture: 2Corinthains 9: 8 ESV
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
Hallelujah!
As Christians, we are not under the Law but under grace. We are encouraged to be generous in our gifts and giving simply because cheerful giving and wise generosity are something that delights the heart of the Lord. Glory!
Who has saved us by His grace and has given us all things to richly enjoy – due to His over-abundant kindness. The opening Scripture is unpacking a principle from God that is found throughout His Word.
For instance, in Proverbs, we read that a generous person will prosper and whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed, while Job reminds us that those who plant trouble and cultivate evil will harvest the same.
But it was Jesus who gave us the common cliché – what a man sows that he will reap. Hallelujah!
God gave us Jesus freely and today our lives can never be the same. That very act of kindness changed the whole world.
His grace is sufficient always.
Beloved, we are to give cheerfully and not from a reluctant heart. Are you aware that is better not to give at all than to harbor thoughts of resentment in our gifts?!
Giving should also be a personal choice that is made in the quiet of our own hearts.
Note: Not a reaction to the expectation of other people and it should be a deliberate choice and not an action performed for the praise of men – but rather to glorify our Father Who is in heaven… For God loves a cheerful giver and He is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always have everything you need so that you may excel in every good work. Glory to God!
We serve an able God and trust Him enough that He can do all things by His grace. God of faithfulness is able and willing to bring that expected breakthrough to manifestation.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the free gift of Salvation and all that you have lavishly bestowed on us freely, by your grace.
Give us a willing heart – a generous heart – a cheerful heart that gives willingly to others as a product of my love for you.
I pray for you to walk in His grace as miracles and testimonies will abound in Jesus name Amen.
