Opening Scripture: Colossians 1: 9 – 13 Esv
9: And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10:So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
11: being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;
12: giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
13: He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.
Glory to God!
When a believer is asked to testify wrongly against someone and he or she declines, is that not walking in the manner worthy of the Lord?
The third prayer Paul prayed was:-
3. Bearing fruit in every good work: A Fruit bearing believer simply shows a strong relationship with Christ. It’s always pleasant to see a fellow believer bear fruits. Fruit bearing is from the life within us.
“Bearing fruit” is a continuous present. It not only reminds us that our lives are to be perennial sources of fruit for the Lord, but it continuously calls to mind the ongoing work of the Father as our spiritual vine keeper. God is constantly at work to take us from no fruit to fruit, to more fruit, to much fruit as He seeks to cause us to abide in the Vine, the Lord Jesus. Glory to God!
Christ is our Life (Study John 15:1-7).
Beloved, fruit bearing is not always pleasant and often requires the severe cutting back of the branches; it may require suffering and pain, but if our lives are to have fruit that abounds for all eternity, and if we are going to mature, various trials are a necessary Part of life
(see James is. 1:2-4, 1 Peter 1:6).
When we pray for someone to bear fruit in every good work, it means all the virtues of the Spirit’s fruit are evident for all to see. (Study Galatians 5:22–23).
Also, fruitfulness in the Christian life includes the following three things:-
a. To cultivate our own spiritual lives in such Christian virtues as self-control, meekness, patience, and faithfulness is seen in our day-to-day activities.
b.To cultivate a character of worship- confession, praise, prayer, thanksgiving, and making melody in our hearts to the adoration of the Lord always.
c.To cultivate the life of service for others:- witnessing, teaching, encouraging one another, helping through deeds of kindness and compassion, giving, weeping with those who weep, and rejoicing with those who rejoice and hospitality. Glory!
Being fruitful in every good work is a call for us to be balanced and productive in several areas of good work. Beloved, change a life today through praying that they may bear fruit in every good work.
I pray for you today, may you bear fruit in every good work in Jesus Name, Amen.
