Word for Today: Put On Godly Character – Above All Love part 1

Opening Scripture: Colossians 3:12 – 15
12: Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
13: bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
14: But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
15: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Glory be to God!
Elect of God! Isn’t that awesome? (Study Matthew 20:16)
God’s own handpicked representatives, holy (purified by Him) and well-beloved. (Study Luke 4:34 and John 17: 19) Hallelujah!

There is some putting on we have to do.
Despite who we are in Him, we need to wear the above-mentioned godly character in the opening scripture to be true representatives of Christ.

I ask who the representative is.
A representative is a person chosen or appointed to act or speak for another person(s) (spokesperson). To be an effective spokesperson you must understand the person or group you are to speak on his, her, or the wider group’s behalf.

You must possess the necessary requirements needed to enable you to function effectively as a representative. Hallelujah! Beloved, this is applicable to us and our Father, God. Mind you, you have been qualified for this job as a believer.

He purified you to make you a worthy representative. You have been made blameless based on His love for you. I also realize the Father wants us to be like Him. All He wants us to put on, He has worn.
How best to know a man? Simple…be like Him. Glory! Therefore to function better you must put on one of the qualities and today we looking at Tender mercies which are also called Tenderhearted.

Let’s look at it from God to us. God’s tender mercies are seen in our lives daily through strengthening us, guidance, loving-kindness, consolation, protection, support, and spiritual gifts which we receive through Christ Jesus; above all, He gave us salvation.

Beloved, we did not bring salvation but we can make people receive it by telling them about Jesus.  Tender mercy has placed them in our care even if they don’t know, they are left to our care.

Be a shoulder for someone to find strength and encouragement, be empathetic – be compassionate about others, share their pains no matter the situation – be there for them. Praise the Lord!

See no fault in them or their flaws, rather be courageous and see to it they be who God says they should be. Tender mercy makes you selfless in the place of prayer (you find yourself praying for someone) Can this be said about you?

If not beloved, it is time to wear it and be the best representative ever. I urge you to be Christ-like and walk in tender mercies.

I pray for you today that you desire and allow the Holy Spirit to clothe you with tender mercy for the Master’s use in Jesus name. Amen.
